Hair products in green beauty have come a very long way!  No longer weighing hair down or leaving it greasy-looking, we’ve finally got products that far exceed conventional brands!

The Shower Filter

Crystal Quest Shower Filter  Simply put, chlorine isn’t good for you.  Inhaling it from the steam in your shower and absorbing it through your skin should be avoided.  This shower filter gives me softer skin and is excellent for helping color-treated hair retain its color longer.   Now when I have to use a hotel shower, I can see the change in my hair immediately.  Get one.  $35

The Shampoo, Conditioner + Treatments

EvolvH   This line is a new favorite. Not only does it truly clean my hair, but it does so without weighing it down or drying it out.  It is the new line that I recommend to everyone.  Plus, it smells fantastic, light and floral.  Not sure?  Get the travel kit which includes the shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner and hair masque (my favorite).  If your hair is on the drier side, you will absolutely love their Hair Masque which I take on every trip (since I won’t have my shower filter and the chlorine does a number on my hair).  The Leave-in is also fantastic  for fly-aways and for smoothing out the hair and smells outrageously good.

Rahua Voluminous Shampoo + Conditioner  Need volume?  I’m highly recommending that you get the Rahua Voluminous Shampoo and conditioner.  It really does work and will give you a ton of bounce! 

The Brush

Widu Hair Brushes  I SWEAR BY THESE BRUSHES.  I remember the first time I got this brush I said to my boyfriend at the time, “So, this is how the other half lives! It’s like I’m brushing my hair for the very first time!”  This incredibly gentle brush is made in Italy from the sustainable forestation of Bubinga Wood from Africa (I love that it helps the African economy, too).   This brush works to distribute natural oils for healthy hair and feels absolutely wonderful.  I detest having to use any other brushes.  It won’t pull and it feels FANTASTIC while you’re brushing. Love.  

The Volumizer/Texturizer

Josh Rosebrook’s LIFT   I’ve just added this as an updated product because I’m using it on the daily and know a lot of people read this blog post. Want a non-toxic volumizer/texturizer that won’t dry out your hair, has pure ingredients, lifts and gives your hair bounce AND shine?  Here you go. You’re welcome. This is one fine product.  $22    I’m also recommending his shampoo and conditioner…especially if you’ve got dry hair.  It will make your hair smell wonderful, keep it shiny and healthy. 

The Dry Shampoo

Captain Blankenship Days At Sea Dry Shampoo  This dry shampoo smells like thee most delicious rose/geranium scent that ever was sniffed.  This dry shampoo will not only make your hair smell great, but it will give it volume, too.  You only need a small amount to get big results.  Who needs this?  Anyone who doesn’t want to wash everyday and those who find their bangs like to amorously entangle with their face oils (my problem).  I love this and hope Jana makes it into a perfume, too! 

The Extras

Acure Organics Leave-In Conditioner  For whatever reason, sometimes my hair is just dry at the ends.  So, I wet my hands, spray a bit of this on them and then spread it all over the ends. My friend, who has incredibly dry hair, now swears by this and uses it on a daily basis. I’m finding that if I use this after each washing, my hair stays in much better condition!
