The Handcrafted Candles

I’m all about handcrafted, eco-friendly candles made from pure ingredients since I started using organic and natural products several years ago. The scent of an artificial candle or air freshener actually makes my throat hurt and gives me an immediate headache. It’s really important that you’re breathing in pure essential oils and candles made with natural wicks. Woodlot has this down: they handcraft candles with renewable coconut wax and gmo-free soy wax, they use cotton core wicks (no-soot effect) and only pure essential oils. Woodlot Soap

If you know me, you know about my full-on obsession with handcrafted soap. You probably also know that I’m in love with Rose and Palmarosa. When I opened up my Woodlot box and smelled the scent of their Amour soap, I smiled. Big. Amour is made with rose, palmarosa, black pepper, Australian pink clay and white kaolin clay. These soaps, made in small batches in their studio in Canada, are cured for six weeks, look beautiful and, if I’m judging from the one I received, smell insane! They’re also really affordable at $9 a bar and are just the thing for Holiday gifts. The other scents are the same as their candles: Wildwoods, Recharge, Cinder, Cascadia, Flora and Unscented. They also come in the pretties of boxes, too.

Palo Santo Incense

Have you ever in your life smelled Palo Santo? It is just thee most calming, subtle, pretty scent. I’ve always been a fan. I’m not sure what you are using in your home for scent, but Palo Santo (or Holy Wood as it is also known) is definitely worth trying. Use it to energetically cleanse your space as it gives off an uplifting, pleasant smoke. To be honest, I often keep a stick of Palo Santo on my desk and I just sniff the wood without even lighting it. It is also said to increase creativity and is helpful to use during meditation. The Mists

Only breathe in the good stuff! Woodlot’s Mists are multi-functional sprays for the face, body, pillows and for your entire environment. I have the Lavender and Bergamot Refreshing Mist and I’ve been spraying it on my pillow, nightly. Very often when you use non-toxic detergent, you won’t get much of a scent off of your linens, so I’m loving this bright and pretty smell in bed for a change. I also intend on taking it to yoga class (when I get myself there again, oy) and love spritzing it on my tees and hair before heading out. It’s a definite mood-lifter especially if you love lavender. Woodlot also has another mist that I have yet to try. It has two of my favorites blended together…The Calming Mist with Rose + Palo Santo. With Rose and palmarosa, I’m guessing it smells absolutely fantastic. The creators, Fouad and Sonia definitely know how to put together scents.
